how to get my transit van to go over 28mph?

Whilst driving the diesel fuel filter fell off on my 1999 transit van.when replaced it would not go over about 28mph and was struggling, and seemed not to be getting enough fuel.Is there another in-line filter that may need replacing or may it be drawing air in somewhere.Or may it be another problem.Thank you

if engine sounds like it is missing loosen front injector pipe a bit untill the engine runs ok.

wots happened is that wen the filter was replaced , its gone on to a slow running mode , i had the same problem , the system needs bleeding , i would chuck the inline filter in the bin if i were you , air is bad for them vans , wen ya got it sorted , and ya driving , if the engine feels all lumpy , dip the clutch and rev the knackers out of the engine for about 5 secs , then small revs then engage drive again , if doesnt work , do it all again
