Carminat sat nav in a 2004 renault Laguna?

The dispaly is working so far as the system will let me enter a destination etc but it is unable to find / locate where the car is at (0 satellite's found) Is this the unit or is it the aerial? Not sure if you need to know but the radio works and picks up any sation programmed or tuned in. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Paid £42 for Renault to tell me I need a new aerial. They want £259 to replace it. Nobody will touch it because it has to be re-initilised which apparently can only be done by a Renault Dealer. Got me by the short and curlies really. Really frustrating as it is a nice feature but the expense is a ridiculous price considering you can buy a satnav system for half the price to stick on the windscreen.

I have a Laguna 2.2DCi estate, 54 Reg. Same thing, sometimes it thinks I am a submarine in the Irish channel, its all over the place. I tried to trace the aerial, as far as I can see, the cable is sealed into the housing, can't tell if there is a cable break? I will try at the Sat Nav end, if not, will try to order a new aerial like Ian Britten said.

Hi, Had the same problem, Renault will kick your wallet up & down the street if you go to them..My fix was easy Buy a £16.00 aerial from ebay (smb) connection..behind glove compartment pull off old sat nav aerial and connect new one comes with about 15 ' of cable...tread it along by the bottom of the doors to back of car concealing the cable under the bottom of the door/floor trim...up behind the door rubbers and stick the magnetic aerial to the roof inside the roof lining...Check once connected with aerial on roof to see if it picks up the sattelites before treading it....Mine did and it saved me hundreds...Good luck..Laguna owner Estate.

Hi Marc, my sat nav has also given up on me.
My location is out by around 15mile , so when driving it shows me going into the sea. Renault want £45 to diagnose the problem. Must be turn off sat nav month for Renault to make money in hard times.
