Kenmore Ultra 12 Stitch?

I bought my Kenmore used. It can only go straight and cannot do any zig & zag. How do I fix it?

Hello Naomi,
When you select zig zag does the needle move from side to side but does not pick mup the thread or does the needle only move in a straight stitch when you have selected zig zag? email me direct below.
