my vax rapide deluxe wont spray water? my vax is a v-026. how do i fix this?

We had this problem with our Vax Rapide deluxe.
the answers seemed to be partly in a few discussion threads.
firstly, with tweezers, remove the grey sponge from the middle of the "white button" that is under the water tank, clean it well - ours was very slimy.
next clean the spray nozzles that are just above- behind the roller brushes, it's quite difficult to see them, - we'd say wipe brush wash - we used a bit of descaler and a kitchen washing brush.
also, make sure that the water in the tank is good and clean
likewise that the roller brushes are cleaned of fluff and hairs
when using check you are pulling the trigger all the way - seems that there is a gentle pull and a full pull!!

In my opinion, Vax carpet cleaners are rubbish. I bought a new Platinum Power Max carpet cleaner 14 months ago, it leaked water continually, after much hassle and many phone calls, Vax replaced it. Now after less than one year and very little use, the machine does not dispense water. Three phone calls to the service dept, can't get past a computer. Chat line does not work. Emails are ignored. Will never buy vax again.

On the hand held washer mainly used for upholstery the problem of not spraying water can be overcome by removing the pin from the blue trigger assembly to expose the black push button valve, start up the machine and depress the button with a pencil if the water starts to come out the problem lies with the height of the button there are two ways of dealing with this you can carefully cut round the valve with a small hacksaw to expose more of the button or you can superglue a tiny nut to the top of the button. replace the trigger and you will find it works perfectly

Had the same problem:
1 - Vax say - it might be an airlock - Doubtful, but they say put water into the water container, hold shampooer backwards at a 45 degree angle and run it for 5 mins with trigger depressed - Didn't work for me.
2 - Remove the brush from the underside of the machine by removing the panel that runs down the side of the main base plate - variations on a theme here for various models but all essentially the same. Behind the brush, there is a black plastic strip with tiny pin holes in it that dispense the spray of water - these can become blocked so clear them out by pushing a pin through them. Still didn't work for me.
3 - Assuming no obvious physical damage, the water feed pipes and valves may have become blocked with old shampoo debris. Put a kettleful of very hot (not boiling) water into the water tank and run the shampooer for several minutes with the trigger depressed. This worked for me.
Once the water is running, carry out (2) above to finish the job.
Finally, to avoid the problem again, each time you have finished using the machine, flush it through with clean water to clear out any sticky shampoo in the pipes.
