How can I fix my Thomson Black Diva CRT television?!?

I recently acquired a second-hand Thomson Black Diva CRT television, and was thrilled to bits until this morning, when it refused to switch on! I don't have the remote and have been switching the set on using the manual buttons.

When I press the power button 'on' at the set, the television makes the noises you'd expect when powering up; however, the main power light remains orange / red and the television doesn't switch on. If I then press the set volume buttons / channel buttons (as it's all I can do without a remote!), the red light flashes a few times, before returning to just red.

I have disconnected the television from the freeview set-top box, and connected it straight to the aerial - the situation does not change.

Can anyone please help in any way? I'm at a total loss and this is my only television!

Many thanks.
