Memorex DVD player MVD2022 tray will not open?

My Memorex DVD play MVD2022 tray will not open. The tv screen displays "tray error." There is no disc in it at the present time. We used the dvd player the night before...no problems. The next morning it would not open. Can we fix it?

How old is it? still under warranty?

If not under warranty - maybe try to push or pull the tray slightly. sometimes they just get stuck.
