Frontera 2.2DTi 2002 No power & spanner light illumimnates?

I have a 2002 2.2DTI LWB. One minute she drives fine, then without reason she becomes idle with no revs, no acceleration, and the spanner warning light illuminates on the dash.
I've had a full service done on her and the air flow valve (?) has been checked, and it's not that.
Anyone any ideas please???

Have had the air flow valve replaced as well as the crank sensor, the sensor showed up on the diagnostic machine , air flow valve was a shot in the dark ,going back in Wednesday will let you know if we sort it out , thanks Len

Hi Len, when the "light" comes on, it normally means the Injection system has gone into a limp home mode and you can't rev it above 3000rpm your only way to find the cause is to get it hooked up to a diagnostic code reader, good local garage or A tyre & Exhaust place £20~30 main dealer £150+vat
