Trouble shoot Vauxhall Zafira?

I have a 2002 Vauxhall Zafira 2.2 auto. I have a loud squealing noise from engine often on acceleration but sometimes carries on whilst cruising. This is an intermittent problem. Also, when I turn on the air conditioning there is a very loud rushing/crunching noise as well.
