Audi A6 Estate - petrol car not opening?

2002 A6 estate petrol cap will not release, and therefore cannot fill fuel tank. Solenoid release mechanism seems to be electrically OK, fuses OK too. Any suggestions how to fix? or dismantle to fix? Can co ver be released / opened from inside the trunk?
