I have cold starting problems with Peugeot 2.8 turbo diesel?

My 2002 Peugeot 2.8 turbo diesel fails to start from cold and will only start using easy start spray. RAC think it could be injector problems. Once started engine runs fine. Garage mechanics not convinced about it being injectors. Anyone have any ideas?
The van has a new battery and this turns engine over brilliantly.

A new fuel pump has not fixed the problem, Peugeot dealers now attempting to get computer snapshot of a failed to start situation. The engine starts more often than not but will then occasionaly fail to start. Anyone any ideas?

It appears that the pump is not putting out enough pressure to the common injector rail. Peugeot main dealers have diagnosed the problem and I have to have a new pump fitted.
