tv switches on then turns itself off?

could anyone please help my friend out.
He has a samsung rear projection tv,which he can switch on, but then it switches itself off.

I had a T.V. engineer to my Samsung and he was aware of the trouble and cleaned the buttons on the front of the T.V. with a micro fibre duster
, said that some models had over sensitaive buttons. Advised me to purchase a duster and I have never had any further trouble.
