my Hitachi 28in widescreen 3 years old, keeps turning off?

Most notably this occurs when first switched on in the morning but it can happen at any time. The picture will suddenly disappear as if it has been switched off. Sometimes if will turn back on by itself, other times I use the remote. Sounds like some sort of loose connection or even one of the scart sockets. I've had the back off but cannot see anything obviously loose.

Just had another of these on my bench and again the fault was as below. C24W410 this time, very similar chassis.

PS. Also, potentiometer R950 may go dry jointed (edge of pcb, unfortunately just behind plastic chassis, so need to remove securring peg near loptx and slide out pcb. to get access.

You don't provide the model but if it happens to be the C28W411, (very popular model around that time), there's a common fault of dry soldered joints to a 3-pin voltage regulator (situated near left/centre of pcb. if viewed from rear). It takes about 5 mins to repair so shouldn't cost you too much.
