i have a kawasaki kle 500 2001 model... it ticks over fine but when riding it is seveirly missfiring, has no guts when accelerating and seems to top out at about 50mph... have checked fuel lines carb's... the usual basic stuff anyone got any ideas as to what it could be and the best way to check it. cheers

Me to, I'm having problems with my rather neglected a1. Same symptoms, runs, albeit rough on tickover, but has no guts at all under acceleration. I'm considering this as a fault in the coils and that's why it misfires under load both acceleration and deceleration.

Anyone have any thoughts about this...

I have a much older KLE with the same symptoms. Battling for months to resolve. Idles fine, no power when accelerating and top speed a joke. Feels like a tractor on two wheels back firing all the while.
