"backlight turns off after a few seconds on Alienware laptop?

The backlight goes off after a few seconds on the laptop. External monitor works fine. Power settings are on full time.
Windows XP prof.
Any help appreciated.

Faulty backlight CFC bulbs and/or inverter.You will need a replacement backlight.Shouldnt be too much.You will need to find a dealer for them tubes. They are known as CFC halogen backlights.
