1988 renault trafic gearbox whining over 40mph?

The van runs fine below 40mph but is unbearable at 50mph and over. How can I source parts for a 1988 renault trafic 1721cc petrol 5 speed manual gearbox (NE3 or NL5 type)? My local dealers don't want to know - please help
