this is on a craftsman 8hp chipper shredder,ineed to know how to set the float {round brass float}.it runs good for several min.then starts to die let it set a few min and it starts up you can almost set a watch to it.

I wouldn't try to adjust the float, but check the needle valve that the float lifts to shut off the fuel. I guess there could be a blockage in there, or maybe in the fuel line or filter. With the float out of the carb, turn the fuel back on and see what quantity flows.
