Fisher and Paykel GWL 15 drains while filling?

My Fisher and Paykel GWL 15 washer is almost 3 years old. It recently started draining while filling and then shuts down in error because there is no water in the tub to wash the clothes. I can hear the drain pump running while the water is entering the machine. It is almost like it is in a rinse cycle but happens at the very beginning. I have tried unplugging it and running with manual fill levels, auto fill levels, cold, hot. It does the same thing no matter what. Can this be a diverter valve problem?

then what? if it stops draining when you unplug the pump, then what part do i need to replace?

make sure the drain hose rises above the top of the washing machine or it will siphon the water out and never fill up - (It may have dropped down) - Next disconnect the power - tip the washing nachine over a little and disconnect the drain pump wiring - see if it fills then .
