How can i fix my tv.Sony FD Trinitron KV-29LS30U?

The picture quality does'nt seem quite right.even on factory setting. All the sliders work on the menu, apart from the sharpness slider,which makes no difference to the picture when moved back and forth. Any advice please. Brian.

Hi it is difficult to diagnose a poor picture complaint with out seeing it but my best guess is that the tube is showing signs of ageing as this set was made in 2001. Do you sometimes get a 5 flash error code? if so that would confirm it
