YAMAHA 600 GENESIS 1993-HOW DO I FIX MY MID AND HIGH RANGE ACCELERATION ?

I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A YAMAHA 600 GENESIS 1993 AND HAVE FOUND THAT I HAVE NO MID OR TOP RANGE ACCELERATION. ITS FINE UP TO 6500 - 7000 RPM, THEN SEAMS TO FLATTEN OUT. THE BIKE HAD BEEN STOOD FOR A WHILE. I HAVE CHANGED THE FUEL AND FILTERS AS WELL AS THE SPARK PLUGS

Mike, does your bike have the EXUP valve? If it has, I'm wondering if its seized up through lack of use....maybe a call to a friendly Yamaha dealer could advise you better.
