DYSON 04 DEAD! Precedants? Help plz?

Hi, I stripped it but not either side of the motor casing to exxpose armature/brush assembly etc. as it looked a step too far until verified as necessary.
What's favourite for this fault>
How do I expose the cable join embedded in the body where the cable enters?
