How can i fix my Kenwood steam iron?

When i switch the iron on, it heats up fine an stay at the right temperature all the time. It's water tank is full to the correct level but it doesn't produce steam. Could it be something to do with the filter that is attached to the water tank? The filter is full of water but i can't remember what the contents of the filter looked like from new when bought it about 1 year ago. Do you know what it could be atall? Thanks.

ive got a new iron and filter,it is meant 2 b full of water, actually you are supposed to totally submerge it in water before you even put it in your tank.if you use your iron on a regular basis, then i think its time 4 a new filter.hold the steam button 4 30 seconds, then let go,steam should come out.good luck.
