How can I fix Samsung DVD/VR 320?

For no apparent reason, no power on light and does not operate via remote or manually. Have checked cable and plug fuse. Has not been dropped or disturbed, just stopped working. Any ideas?

Its a very common problem, and usually due to a failed power supply diode.

its to the rear right hand corner of the Video board, and labelled as D1S35, a 200v 2A diode.

replace this and your machine will come back to life!
