My hoover nextra optima HNL6166?

Program starts fills with water and then thats it, found the filter at the front but it ndoesnt come out, waht can I do

on a boil wash the washer temperature just keeps getting hotter. Also on lower washes the temperature does cut out but not at the correct temperature as my work tops which never creased now crease beyond ironing.
