I have a 2006 Aprilia Sr50 - will not start?

I just bought it used last July, had it serviced, it ran great. i took the battery out for the winter and recharged it before putting it in. It will not start no power to panel at all. Any ideas? Fuses seem fine.

hi kb, if the main fuse is ok i'd say it could be your battery. small scooter type batteries need regular charging every few weeks even if its not in the bike. if you had it lying up without giving it a regular charge, chances are the cells have sulphated & the battery is dead even though it might look ok. put a multimeter on it to see if your getting 12volts or if you don't have one then bridge the battery terminals with a length of wire or a spanner & see if you get a spark, then you'll know there's a bit of life left in it.
