Mountfield omega 53 laser hums?

My lawnmower starts first time and then dies in power and then increase and then slowly ticks away..when going over heavy grass it will cut out any ideas any one

Suggest you check the diaphragm in the carburettor-may need replacing.
Also clean the filter on the carburettor
