piston orientation in cylinder in ry30002a weedeater?

I have this weedeater apart with new gaskets. When i took piston out of cylinder i didn't notice any difference. while cleaning noticed piston skirt is longer on one side. Could you tell me what side the longer side goes on, the intake side or the exhaust side?

Usually two stroke pistons have an arrow on the crown that points to the exhaust side....however, my guess is that the longer side of the skirt should go to the exhaust side too - but its only a guess! I think that if the long skirt was to the inlet, the inlet port wouldn't be uncovered when the piston went up.
