Which power pipe is best for the Sukida SK 50 QT?

I have a Sukida SK 50 QT and it's the slowest thing I've ever seen. I'm told a power pipe will improve the performance, but what make and model is the best. I've heard Leo Vince but I don't know which is the right one to fit this scooter. Can anyone help?

Hi Sam!

There are loads of ways to get more out of your bike/ped/scoot but sadly with a 50 (especially a 4 stroke) you need to make several changes to get the most out of it - it's a cumulative effect because you don't have much to start with.

You can change the carb jet, drill the exhaust, remove baffles if any, change/remove the airfilter, run with higher pressures in the tyres, change the weights on the variator and check it's offset.

The best thing to do to get significant improvement unfortunately is to re-bore or get a faster machine to start with. I am lucky enough that I only have my twist go for short commutes and have other machines to get my thrills being an old fart. The only way I could get my sukida to accelerate any where near my R1 would be to drive it off a cliff!!! Saying that, every bike has it's purpose which is the great thing about them!

Hi Dave
You seem to know what your talking about, maybe you can give me more possible ways to make the bike faster as i have done the method mentioned above but only get 35 - 40 on flats and as i am 17 this is a bit of a joke rearlly.

Don't worry about the pipe. I have just aquired a Sukida SK50QT Top 1 through a friend at work as a cheap commute so I don't kill my R1 as it's heavy traffic all the way and a short journey which is not good for it. When I got the scoot last night it went up to 27 on the clock when I took it down the road which is pathetic and painfull!! I have had a nose around it today and within 10 minutes work it now goes off the clock - I am guessing around 45 maybe 48 if the figures went that far so probably 40 in real terms but a dam sight better!

Here's what you need to do:

1) Pop your seat up and take any crap you have inside out and you will see an access panel which is held in place by a posi drive screw towards the back of the bike. Take the screw out and lift the screw end up towards the front of the scoot - it's hinged.

2) You can now see the top of the carb inside. There are 2 screws holding the plate in place which you need to remove and retain. As you remove the screws you will feel the plate lifting slightly - this is because of a spring inside.

3) Carefully lift of the plate so as not to lose the screw and look at the side that was inside the carb and you will see a threaded post in the middle which has threaded spacer on it which looks like an elongated nut screwed on - This needs to be undone and removed.

4) Once removed screw the top plate back in place, then the access panel, shut your seat down and fire it up smiling smugly!! - your done!!

It not only made my scoot quicker top end but gave me better acceleration taking out a real horrible flat spot. If it's not raining tomorrow I am going to drill a couple of 12mm/1/2 inch holes in the back of the can and remove the air filter to get it breathing a little better.

The best thing about this mod is that it is free too!!!!

Enjoy!!!!
