what could the cause be? sharp model 13vt-l100 vcr tv combo
when rewinding the tape about 75% of the time it will eat the tape. I have disasembled the unit and I see nothing broken also it does not look like it has a idler tire either.

I suggest doing a Yahoo or Google search on 'repairing vcr' or 'damaged video cassette' (or something similar). Check the search results and see if they give you an answer. There are some very good sites out there regarding VCR problems and repairs.
