engine management light?

i drive 04 vauxhall zafira dti.the engine management light keeps coming on and when it does it looses power and it wont go over 3000 rpm.the only way to overide this is by turning off and on the key. i have tried egr valve and airflow sensor with no joy. any ideas.

your exhaust gas regulator valve has gone. It is a common fault with this engine. It cost me £400+ for part, vat & fitting at my local vauxhall dealer.

Need to have fault codes read. ECU diagnostic, take the guess work out of it. Use a none main dealer trusted diagnostic garage. Should pay no more than £25 for diagnostic check.
