Mira shower?

The Mira shower seems to get very hot and when turned down it gets very cold, is the termostat broken or do I need to replace the shower. It's about 8 years old and is very noisy, any suggestions would be appreciated.

its' a Mira Elite shower, not sure how old it is as it was in the house when we bought it three years ago.
