Flymo Venturer 320 seems to lack power?

Hi everyone,

My ageing electric lawnmower seemed to literally overnight appear 'gutless', not revving up to full power. I am not sure if it is the bearings, as it fires up (slower than before) and almost comes to a halt when cutting grass.

I have had it apart and cleaned it out, checked connections, squirted it with WD-40, checked the switch.. but alas, still no joy.

Is anyone able to confirm if it does sound like the bearings, before I toddle off and buy a new mower? (I first thought capacitor, but that's just a guess, so don't laugh!).

Hope you can help! Thank you

Thank you John.

I have retired it off now and having a go at the old fashioned pushy cylinder type contraption (my 6yr olds suggestion, as she was worried about using up too much electricity!).

If your mower won't get up to full speed, its a sure sign that the motor is going into premature retirement, and it will probably take up a smoking habit before too long....best give it a good funeral and pop down to B&Q.
