I have changed the n/s drive shaft but car will still not move put car in gear let out clutch speedo registers mph but car stands still it has the volvo engine and is supposed to have a jc5 704 gearbox but can't find the number tag help.
prior to this there was a knocking sound on pull away which sounded and felt like the rear engine mounting.

Hello i rebuild gearbox,s for a living,do plenty of these and other renault gearbox,s.
I,ve had these strip planet gears so it wont drive but the speedo will still turn.
Could also be the o/s drive shaft at fault.
