RCB trips when i switch on my mira sport shower?

Have had this Mira 9kw sport shower for over 8 years.
When I switch it on the RCB trips straight away. I have taken the cover off and there are no visual signs of corrosion and wiring problems.

More than likely its the main heating element that is shorting out internally...time to reach for the piggy bank, I think.
