After switching on the washing machine (Ariston Margherita 2000) the drum appears to go one way and then the other, the drum then stops and pumps the water out, at that stage the programme selector clicks round continually. Have checked the brushes and they look okay and have checked the temperature guage which appears to have power going through it. Any suggestions?

hi, ex washer man, sounds like the cpu (central processer unit) has gone, common problem on italian washers, been retired a while,but they used to be about £35-£60, its a long printed board usually towards the back of the machine, hope this helps, ed.
