I have got a vauxhall Omega 2.5 Elite automatic gears, and the gearstick is starting to stick in park after the ignition is started the engine, what could be the fault?

if the gearbox is working ok, and just the fault indicator, try cleaning the selector (under the gaiter) as they get dusty i use standard switch cleaner and a soft cloth

The gearbox is electronically controlled, which means when a fault occurs the computer knows about it.
It could be an electrical fault,ie a solenoid a speed sensor the selector switch,or if the gearbox is slipping the computer will pick it up and put the fault light on.
It needs to be scanned with a vauxhall tech2 diagnostic machine or a similar scanner.
