How can I replace the batters on the navman S30?

There are two screws on the bottom of the unit, but when I removed them nothing seemed to come apart. Are their hidden screws anywhere?

Hi manarchy

Glad to have got you started on opening your S30.

It is great that you took time to post back here. Other S30 users will, no doubt, find your extra information useful.

For the record my S30 is a pre-3d model.

Hi, i followed your guide but had a bit of a difference. Thanks for the first bit though. I think i have the older spec to you guys, mine is the model s30 3d but before the updated look. My trouble was the screen kept turning off when i went over a bump etc.

For my version i undid the 2 screws at the bottom then gently, from the top (the side with the on and off) i prised the back off with a flat screw driver and twisted, it seems my version only has the bottom screws, none on the front under anything that pops off. It has 4 catches made of plastic that simply clicked undone. Once id opened it, 1 screw fell out and the other 3 were so loose. Ive tightened them all up and now the on/off switch feels tighter than ever before. Simple. Thanks again for the first bit of the guide

To replace the battery in a Navman S series GPS you need three things:-

1, A set of watchmaker's screwdrivers, or similar, with cross and flat blades.

2, A lot of patience!

3, This bit of information "THE BOTTOM DOES NOT COME OFF!!!!!!"

These are the steps to open it up :-

1, Remove the 2 screws from the bottom.

2, Use small flat blade screwdrivers to remove the left and right grey side pieces.
You need to take your time about this, eventually they will 'pop off'.
If you do not exercise care you will damage the case.

3, Remove the 4 screws that have been exposed.

4, Gently prise apart the 2 halves of the case.

There you have it; that is what I did to replace the battery in my S30.

All you need are the right tools, a lot of care and patience, plus these instructions.

Hope it works for you.
