my goodmans tv is stuck on standby how can i turn it back on. i have tried turning it off at the plug and then back on again but with no joy. please help its my sons tv.

hi i have just got a new tv 6m ago and it stuck on stand by it was working when i when out then i come back and it was like this dose any 1 no wots up with it
