Indesit IS31V started to squeak a while ago but today it started a very loud banging and the drum no longer goes round smoothly. It is 3 years old and used a lot, worth fixing? Or should I ditch it and get a new one?

Bad drum shaft, what has probably happened is that it has worn through the bearing and snapped.
I got a kit called a BKT88 which includes all the needed parts, to get the old shaft off requires taking the machine apart and unseating the drum, also drilling out two rivets and replacing them.
