Renault Espace 2.0 Auto 1997 petrol?

When hot, pulls away in first gear,trys to engage next gear but knocks and judders,service warning comes on and eventually gets to top gear were it stays untill you stop it and it cools down then its ok again.Checked gearbox level,ok,can you help.

Hello sounds like the forward clutch drum has failed,this gearbox cracks and brakes the drum allowing too much clearance.
Will need a rebuild im afraid.
