won't suck?

My dirt devil 12 amp featherlite bagless will not suck up....it has suction with the hose, but not underneath i cleaned it, it is not clogged. The belt is working and when i turn it on the brush spins......why does it have no suction?

If that vac. has a selector in the back (for the hose/ floor) it may be broken. They tend to get stuck in one position when this happens.
