i'm changing the wiper spindles on 97 5 series bmw.l have bought the whole part with all 3 spindles on,only really need to change the n\s one,is it easier to change the whole part or just the spindle.do i need to take the part off anyway? Hope you can advise me.....many thanks.

Replacement of wiper spindle is not such tedious but all thing you need is proper tool kit otherwise it’s so time consuming. Earlier, I also have gone through the same situation when bought an aftermarket wiper spindle http://www.iautobodyparts.com/dodge/ to save money and tried to replace it myself at home. Believe me, it’s not that easy as it looks, eventually I had to made replacement with the help of repair person. Consequently, I would only advice you to hand over this task into skilled hands.
