merc e240 2001 srs and airbag light on checked wires under seats all ok any ideas what problem could be thanks

Need to get it plugged in to diagnostics to be sure. Even if you have fixed the problem, the airbag/SRS light usually wont go off, it has to be turned off using diagnostics. This is a safety feature to stop people meddling with the airbags and exploding them in their own faces.
