My 2004 Massey- Ferguson 231 Diesel starts good?

when I run this Diesel tractor for 30 min. it starts to loose RPM's and dies. The only way I can get it to restart is with starting fluid sprayed in the air intake.Then it will start up and run for about 30 min. and shut down again,and I have to repeat the process. Anyone know what's going on here?
