Phillips Intellicare GC7010 Steam escaping from standing iron base?

We turned the iron on and waited for the warm up period to pass.

Huge hissing noise and steam coming from kettle base, so turned iron off at the wall.

Noticed water seeping down steam cable which has never before been wet at all.

It appears the compression kettle in base has been breached and blown.

Can this be repaired? If so, to who do we take it? How much would it cost or should Phillips replace it?
