this happened to me when i installed mine. it could be an air lock. undo the retaining nut to the pipe and let somwe water out, then reconnect, it should start working. mine is fine now

Are you sure that there is sufficient water pressure at the inlet of the shower. If so it could be a failure of the on/off switch or a failure of the solenoid coil. Either failure would prevent water from flowing through the solenoid valve into the heater tank
