New Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI 80 Burning Oil?

I bought a new Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI 80bps Estate seven months ago. After the first 5,000 miles it needed 1 litre of oil, the milleage is now 7,300 and it needed another 3/4 litre of engine oil.

The dealer said it was normal to go through oil between services when the engine is stressed. I generally drive it on motorways between 65mph and 75mph. The car is not leaking oil. Is what the dealer said correct? and is it normal to go through so much oil? or is their some problem with it that the dealer needs to correct under warranty?

Thanks

yes all diesels will burn oil from new,but should slow down by about 10k ,its just the engine bedding in,we used to say that if a diesel burned oil it was either new or very very old

i had a octavia 1.9 tdi it burned oil like that up to about 40.000 miles.
the octavia 2.0 tdi burned oil all the time i had it. up to 105.000 miles.
so i think it is probably normal.
