My 1997 Renault Megane has an orange warning light that has started flashing on the dashboard when the car is idling or slowing down. As soon as you press the throttle it goes off but then start flashing again when you release the peddle. The car seems to start and drive fine and the engine is ticking over nicely and not cutting out so anyone got any ideas what it could mean?

if it is the light that looks like a heart monitor that has started on my car as well (megane 1.6e 1996) it could be that on the left hand side of the fuse box there is a box where thefault diagnostic machine plugs into is the lid is opened there i presume this is a tameper light to tell the dealer that the vehcle has tampered with this should be no problem (exept the anoiance) just take it to renault or a garage with the computer to fit a rebnault and have them wipe the error codes that'll sort it
