why does my corsa car radio keep switching itself on?

my 54 plate corsa's radio keeps turning itself on and draining the battery. Any ideas why?

Is it a cd player? There were some problems with a sensor in the player thinking a cd had been inserted and turning the radio on. Do you remove any cd's from the player before switching off (dont know if removing or leaving in makes any difference to be honest, just curious).
