Dyson DC07 only sucks through hose and won't lock upright?

My Dyson DC07 won't lock upright, and is sucking though the hose, and not through the cleaner head where it should be sucking from in this postion. I've locked for any obvious obstructions or blockages, but can't see anything. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Thanks

when looking at the front of your machine, on the left hand side there is a valve you can take out to check for blockages it is the part that this fits into that is the problem it has slipped back out of position push it forward and then try to stand your machine uprite.
