sanyo tv?

the cable connection on the tv was tightened too much and was twisted off. What must be done to fix this, and is it possible that I can do it myself?

I have a 42 inch sanyo lcd tv . black lines,sometimes appearing as an entire box comes across the entire t.v almost darkening the entire picture. This mainly happens on the left side of the screen. I need to know what the problem could be.
